"AlTERNAtiva - Terna Award for Contemporary Art"

Photofestival 2011, the great exhibition that is a corollary to Photoshow with 80 artistc photographic exhibitions in art galleries and in the most representative places of Milan, leaves ideallyfrom the spaces of the Fair with an exhibition of exception.
There will be three works in the exhibition hall of the Terna Award for Contemporary Art 2010 winners of the special mention AlTERNAtiva: Liliana Moro with the work "E lucevan le stelle ", Riccardo Previdi with the work "Test (Parrot), 2010" and Ciriaca Erre with the work "Changing is natural". On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the three works show an intuitive reflection and not didactic on the flag, as told in symbolic, moral intensity and poetry.
The third edition of the Award collected membership of over 3,000 artists, from Italy and China, called to speak on "(+150) Vision: Source and Power. Energy through the Generations", which celebrated the power of vision, intuition, the ability to project themselves and others in the future, while taking inspiration from the historical example of those who in 1861 has insight and has given rise to energy to the Unification of Italy.
Since its inception, the Award has raised the participation of more than 9,000 artistic creationsconfirm itself the main cultural platform on the Italian contemporary, to discover new talent and to give energy of the Big.

"The language of the devil"

40 shots to tell the train tragedy of the night of June 29, 2009 in Viareggio, the "Language of the devil" which swallowed a road - Via Ponchielli - and the dreams and the future of 33 persons and their families. Made a few hours after the tragic event and the day of the state funeral of the victims by Andrea Nannini, journalist and volunteer of the Civil Protection, the photos capture the dramatic moments after the disaster and desolation of a deeply wounded city, surrounded by in silence and amazement.

FotografiSenzaFrontiere's Fund

The collaboration between Photoshow and the FotografiSenzaFrontiere's Fund, an independent organization founded in 1997 and dedicated to creating permanent photographic laboratories set up in marginal areas or areas of conflict in the world like Nicaragua, Palestine, Algeria and Uganda.
In a fair selection of the works of the most famous Italian and foreign photographers and many young artists, auctioned in March 3, 2011 at Sotheby's in support of the FSF. Among the photographs, works of Gian Paolo Barbieri, Gabriele Basilico, James Whitlow Delano, Franco Fontana, Maurizio Galimberti, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Luigi Ghiri, Douglas Kirkland, Nino Migliori, Ugo Mulas, Herb Ritts, Massimo Vitali, Francesco Zizola and many others prestigious names in the international scene.
A portion of proceeds from the ticket Photoshow will be donated to their noble cause.

Oasis Photo Contest

After several stops in Italy, arrives in the exhibition Photoshow Oasis Photo Contest 2010, International Award for Environmental and Nature Photography sponsored by Oasis magazine. Will be shown the best photographs selected from among the 15,000 competing proposals from more than 1,000 participants from 28 countries worldwide, divided into ten themes: Landscapes, Mammals, Birds, Animals, Underwater photography, Friends of home, Portfolio, People and peoples, Flora and Shooting Techniques. The works were judged by a jury chaired by documentary filmmaker Folco Quilici and composed of prominent journalists and photographers. "ALL DIGITAL VILLAGE®"

After the huge success of their debut at Photoshow 2010 Rome, returns the All Digital Village®, the "place" where they meet fans and professionals of various digital activities, including exhibition, information, training.
An area dedicated to the image pictures and video and digital-cinema, between the exposure and training, where observe, listen and learn. In the exhibition there are works by the same audience (pictures, short, showreel), and select collections through magazines, websites and newsletters of the press Motoperpetuopress (All Digital High Definition Movies & TV HD, Technoshopping), organizer of the Village, and the world of social networking. Also, available to all visitors, reading services Portfolio and analysis of digital video and especially theory lessons and shooting technique (photographic videoHD, D-cinema), meetings with authors, directors, photographers, cinematographers and live set with models under the guidance of teachers of the courses.
A special attraction is the technical meetings organized in collaboration with AIC - Italian Association of Authors of Photography Film, which counts among its members renowned directors of photography, from Luciano Tovoli to Vittorio Storaro, from Giuseppe Rotunno to Marcello Gatti, Dante Spinotti and many others.
This year, the Village is also home to the first edition of the Wedding Festival®, the first and only Italian event dedicated to the world of the art 360 ° wedding photos and videos.


PHOTO BOOK'S AREA

Everything about the photo book in the space signed by AIF (Italian Association Photo-Digital Imaging representing the world of photography and imaging) and Assofotolabo (the Association of photo labs account). Videos, photos, and more: an exciting journey for visitors of Photoshow to discover of the instrument that transforms photographs into stories to create, tell and print.

FACEBOOK WALL

Back to the meeting for members at the page Photoshow of Facebook, which with its more than 11,000 members representing the largest group linked to a photographic exhibition.
All members can post a picture, print it on photo paper and hang it on the appropriate wall at the Fair. The three best pictures will be awarded on the afternoon of Sunday 27 with the prestigious publishing house publication Contrasto delivered by Denis Curti, a critic and historian of photography and director of Contrasto.
5000 photos submitted by fans and pictures hung at the Fair and 1000 photos in Rome last year, reflecting the success of the initiative.

ANTIQUE PHOTO BAG

The antiques market is waiting like every year collectors, nostalgic and curious: 200 tables of equipment and materials and many rarities and curiosities from the beginning of the '900 to the '70es (Saturday 26 and Sunday 27). Another traditional event of Photoshow.


INSTALLATION & SET SALE PHOTO

Sale installation coordinated by professionals and courses led by photographers are waiting for enthusiasts who want to experiment with their camera.
And for all, many live-set with beautiful models equipped with the most diverse subjects, from sports to that of dance and fashion.


"STRANGE PEOPLE FESTIVAL"

Space for recreation and entertainment for the general public with an area of unusual animation, original and unique. Celebrities, actors and dramatic performance that animate the three-day event (March 25-26-27) to stimulate lots of photographs: from the lizard man to the Italian Queen of Burlesque, from the man who feels no pain to Jabba the Magician with his trained animals.
